United States injects another $18.5 mln for Cambodia’s economic growth in areas of food, agriculture and environment
PHNOM PENH, September, 21, 2012 (PQRU) – Deputy Prime Minister H.E Dr. Sok An, Minister in Charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers, and Flynn Fuller, USAID Mission Director, signed on Friday a bilateral agreement of $18.5 million for 2012-2013 program funding from U.S to support joint U.S and Cambodian priorities in economic growth, agriculture, food security, and global climate change adaptation, and mitigation. This bilateral agreement funds USAID programs such as Helping Address Rural Vulnerabilities and Ecosystem Stability (HARVEST) and others that will support the Cambodia’s national development strategy by enhancing agricultural production, development post-harvest management capacity, increase access to food, and helping Cambodian farmers adapt to climate change.
