PHNOM PENH, Dec. 24, 2013 – Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister His Excellency Dr. Sok An exchanged view with the outgoing Indonesian Ambassador H.E. Soehardjono Sastromihardjo on Tuesday that Cambodia has high potential in the areas of rice production, tourism and that a direct flight should be created as it will contribute to boosting the tourism sector. During the farewell meeting, His Excellency Dr. Sok An, Minister in Charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers, said that Cambodia has rice surplus of 4 million tons last year and is seeking foreign traders, including Indonesians, to invest in rice export from Cambodia. Cambodia sees Indonesia as a rice market and that Indonesian traders should look to invest in the commodity in the Kingdom, he said. “They do not have to start with large scale investment of hundreds of millions of dollar, but they can start with medium scale of rice trading which is more convenient,” H.E.
